LUCKNOW: The police on Thursday arrested Ravindra Maurya alias Kariya,the main accused in the robbery of about 10 kg jewellery from the office of Muthoot finance in Alambagh area on February 21.
Lucknow Senior Superintendent of Police J Ravinder Goud said Maurya was the main accused in the robbery and had escaped with the maximum of the jewellery robbed. He said the police have recovered more than 3 kg jewellery worth about Rs 1 crore from him. According to police,Maurya,a resident of Krishna Nagar area,had done his MA in political science from Kanpur University. His five accomplices were arrested by the police a few days after the robbery had taken place.
AMU gets its first woman ADSW
LUCKNOW: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has appointed Salma Shaheen of the University Womens Polytechnic as Assistant Dean of Students Welfare. Shaheen is the first woman who has been appointed as ADSW in the history of AMU.
