Mistry’s poll planks: Sugarcane farmers,flood-hit regions

“It was revealed in the meeting that the state government had not utilised the funds meant for flood-affected districts despite the fact that the same were timely released by the Centre. He has,therefore,asked party leaders in the region to soon start a campaign against the state government,highlighting the funds have not been utilised properly”,said a party leader.

“He told us that workers should be in touch with the sugarcane farmers and take up the issue of non-payment of dues,” added the party leader.

Speaking about distribution of party tickets for the Lok Sabha elections,Mistry told leaders in Gorakhpur that according grand welcome to senior party leaders and making rounds of Delhi would not help them in getting party tickets this time. “Raise issues that would strengthen you at the grassroots,till booth level,in the state,” he said.

According to sources,Mistry also warned workers against “indiscipline”.

Before leaving for Delhi,Mistry announced his second phase tour programme for three zones,which would take place between July 16-20. He would start from Bareilly,where he would inaugurate a zonal office and hold district-wise meetings of Budaun,Pilibhit,Sitapur,Hardoi,Lakhimpur Khiri,Farrukhabad,etc. On July 18,he would be in Noida and on July 19-20 in Meerut. Tour dates for Bundelkhand and Varanasi would be announced later.
