A DAY after two youths from Gonda claimed that the dismembered bodies recovered from Sitapur and Lucknow recently were that of their two sisters, the girls were found in Allahabad on Sunday.
The girls had gone missing from their house in Gonda city on November 30. Police said they had eloped with two boys and were staying in Allahabad. Gonda Kotwali SHO Abhay Pratap Mal said the youngest girl, who is 18, has claimed to have got married to one of the boys.
“They said they had been talking to the boys on phone and had fallen in love with them… Both girls are adults major and had gone willingly. So, no case will be registered,” he added.
With this, the police have again started looking for anyone who can identify the dismembered bodies.
On Thursday, the heads of two women were found in a trolley bag in Manpur area of Sitapur. The next day, two torsos and four legs were found in Madiaon area of Lucknow. While the two heads were found in culvert near a village in Manpur, the torsos were found in the bushes on Sitapur-Hardoi bypass road. The four legs were found near a dental college a few metres from the bypass road.
Now, police claim that it is becoming increasing probable that the two women were killed by their relatives. Lucknow SSP Rajesh Kumar Pandey said, “It is unlikely that the families of two missing women will not report the matter even after so long… The appearance of body parts and severed heads suggest that the women could be between 20 to 30 years of age.”
