MGNREGA workers die while cleaning unused well

Three Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme workers died after reportedly inhaling some poisonous gas while cleaning an unused well without wearing any safety equipment in Barabanki district on Saturday.

Three Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme workers died after reportedly inhaling some poisonous gas while cleaning an unused well without wearing any safety equipment in Barabanki district on Saturday.

According to police,the incident took place at Raipur village in Asandara area at 1 pm,when three labourers — Awadh Ram (42),resident of neighbouring Moham med Chandipur village,Siya Ram (43) and Vinod Kumar(30),both residents of Raipur — fainted inside an unused well,minutes after they entered it to get it cleaned.
