A man, suspected to be mentally unstable, on Sunday hanged himself inside the luggage bogie of a passenger train, which was on its way to Moradabad.
According to Government Railway Police (GRP), the man, in his 30s, boarded the train at Saharanpur railway station Sunday morning and locked himself inside the luggage bogie.
GRP officials were informed about the bogie remaining locked from inside when the train reached at Moradabad railway station in the evening. Officials forced open the door and found the body hanging with a muffler.
Moradabad GRP SHO Ayub Hasan said the man, who is yet to be identified, appeared to be mentally unstable. He said the postmortem was done on Monday and it said that he died of ante-mortem hanging. The man had no belonging or anything on him which could help the police identify him. They only found a bus ticket taken for journey from Pathankot to Katra in Punjab on February 27.
