Hard work is the path to success. The two toppers of Lucknow both girls who also bagged second position in the region in the CBSE Class XII examinations this year have proved the adage once again.
Both Aksha Srivastava and Supriya Sharma scored 488 out of 500. Ambitious about their careers, the girls put in five to six hours of study apart from school hours to achieve their dream.
Aksha, whose only diversion from course books and newspapers is music, believes that success in the boards is the first step towards her career. Studying away from her parents in Lucknow,Aksha is keen on pursuing chartered accountancy along with her graduation. My inspiration is my elder sister, who is pursuing her CA here in Lucknow, said an exuberant Aksha, whose father R K Srivastava is a Deputy General Manager in Awadh Sugar Factory near Sitapur.
Aksha, from Rani Laxmi Bai Memorial Public School, missed her parents during the celebrations in Lucknow. They are both very happy with my result and I hope to meet them soon, she said.
Similar feelings were shared by Supriyas father,Dr Ashwini Sharma, who is posted as Deputy CMO in Hardoi. Her results have been exceptionally good. But she needs to concentrate on cracking a medical entrance examination to sustain this joy, said Dr Sharma, who gives the entire credit of his daughters success to his wife Vineeta Sharma.
Supriya gave her parents credit for her success. A student of Lucknow Public School,LDA Colony,Supriya aims to become a doctor just like her father. I am not keen on becoming a government doctor, said Supriya, who wants her own practice as a cardiologist in Lucknow.
AIIMS is my aim and I hope to crack the examination soon, said Supriya.
