Planning to celebrate the 76th birthday of Mulayam Singh Yadav in over 50,000 villages of Uttar Pradesh on the instructions of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is turning out to be a litmus test for the ruling Samajwadi Party and its cadre.
Mulayam’s birthday falls on November 22. The party has galvanised its workers for the task of organising celebrations across the state. Individual responsibilities have been fixed while sitting legislators and those aspiring for party ticket in the 2017 Assembly polls have additional responsibilities to conduct the programme in every village of their constituency. Compliance report for successful conduct of the programme has to be submitted at state office, which will be verified.
Akhilesh has asked party leaders to celebrate Mulayam’s birthday on a grand scale in every village at a public place with decorations, distribution of sweets to children and also reading out chapters on the SP chief’s political journey “to inspire” the youth.
