Lucknow Division triumphs in inter-divisional hockey

Lucknow Division defeated Ferozepur Division 5-4 through tie-breaker in the final to bag the top honours in the inter-divisional hockey tournament of Northern Railway (NR) organised at Northern Railway Stadium,Charbagh from November 8 to 10.

Lucknow Division defeated Ferozepur Division 5-4 through tie-breaker in the final to bag the top honours in the inter-divisional hockey tournament of Northern Railway (NR) organised at Northern Railway Stadium,Charbagh from November 8 to 10. The score at the regular time-period was tied at 1-1.

Kavita’s hat-trick

A hat-trick of goals by Kavita Maurya helped Sports Authority of India (SAI) team in defeating ‘Babu’ Society Under-14 Boys team by 4-0 in their semi-final match of the SN Kapoor Hockey Tournament. Priya Rai scored apiece on behalf of the victors. In the second semi-final,Veterans XI defeated Hostel Girls XI 6-4 through tie-breaker. The score was tied at 2-2 till the final moments of the because of which a tie-breaker had to be resorted to.

The final between Veterans XI and SAI women’s team will be played at 3.00 pm on Friday.

SBI win

State Bank of India (SBI) defeated Uninor team by 17 runs in their league match of the Corporate Cup cricket tournament on Thursday. Batting first,SBI scored 121 runs losing eight wickets in the given 20 overs. In reply,Uninor was bowled out at a total of 104 runs in the same number of overs.

State Bank of India : 121 for eight in 20 overs ( Abhilash 64,Ved Prakash 11; Ashutosh 3 for 29,Deepak 2 for 7); Uninor: 104 for nine in 20 overs ( Ashutosh 31,Abhislash 2 for 18,Vedprakash 2 for 25).
