Rihai Manch’s Public Relations Officer Anil Yadav said they had filed a complaint with Hazratganj police station against sub-inspectors Omkar Nath Yadav and Vijay Kumar Pandey alleging that the two had thrashed Rajiv brutally.
“We were staging a protest at Gandhi Pratima against the controversial encounter in Madhya Pradesh. Both sub-inspectors, Omkar Yadav and Vijay Kumar arrived at the spot and started pressurising us to remove the banners and posters put up. When Rajiv objected, the policemen started thrashing him. They also thrashed people who came forward to save Rajiv,” said Anil Yadav.
Raj Kumar Singh, SHO, Hazratganj police station, confirmed that they had registered the complaint.
