Thousands of students had to face disappointment yet again as Lucknow University (LU) delayed its first allotment list by two days on Saturday.
Throughout the day,the LU administration received calls from the under-graduate applicants, who called to inquire about the announcement of the allotment list in absence of a communication from the university. Things were unclear till late evening even as vice-chancellor Dr S B Nimse held a meeting with admission officials, including admission coordinator Prof N K Khare.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC),which is hosting the admission process, was unclear as to when it would be able to upload the results. NIC officials said that they are ensuring all parameters are met before the list is announced. After a meeting with the V-C,it was decided to keep Monday (July 8) as the date for the first allotment list, Khare said. More than 20,000 students have applied for 3,395 under-graduate seats, making about six students in line for each seat. On June 25,LU had announced July 5 as the date for the announcement of the first allotment list.
