Three of the accused wanted in the murder of Sachin and Gaurav,who were lynched by locals at Kawaal village on September 27 in a retaliatory move after a Muslim youth was murdered,have surrendered before a Muzaffarnagar court.
Sachin and Gaurav had reportedly stabbed Shahnawaj of Kawaal village after the latter allegedly harassed their sister. The triple murder had led to the communal riots in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining district claiming more than 60 lives.
On Monday,three of the named accused in the murders of Sachin and Gaurav Jahangeer,Nadeem and Billa surrendered before a local court in Muzaffarnagar and were sent jail.
With their surrenders,five accused have been jailed so far for the murder of Sachin and Gaurav. The special investigation cell had earlier arrested Shahnawajs cousin Mohammad Mujassim in October while a local Furqan was arrested the murders had taken place on September 27.
Meanwhile,no any arrest has been made in the murder case of Shahnawaj. Shahnawajs family alleged that police investigation was not fair. Five persons,including our family members,have been arrested for the murder of Sachin and Gaurav. But no arrest has been made in Shahnawajs murder, said Shahnawajs uncle Abdul Sattar.
