Helium baloon ride in Agra,Fatehpur Sikri and Varanasi; ropeways in Mathura,Chitrakoot and Mirzapur; restarting of light and sound show at Lucknow Residency — the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to develop these tourist attractions through Public Private Partnership (PPP) model here.

A high powered committee headed by Industrial Development Commissioner Anil Kumar Gupta met on Wednesday, where it was decided that all these projects would be taken up on PPP model along with development of road-side amenities along the highways, also to be developed by private players.

After discussion with the officers, the tourism projects, which were cleared by the committee included, for starters,Helium baloon ride at three places. The places selected for this ride were Shilpgram in Agra,Rahi Gulistan tourism complex in Fatehpur Sikri and Ravidas Ghat in Varanasi.

The second project cleared by the committee was starting ropeways facility at places of religious significance. These ropeways would aim at providing easy transport facility to tourists to Radharani temple in Bansara area of Mathura,Devangana valley in Chitrakoot and Vindhyavasani Kali-Koh- astabhuja temple in Mirzapur.

The committee also gave clearance to restarting light and sound show at Lucknow Residency. This show was introduced in 2003 but could not continue as it had started developing technical snags and was stopped. The government has decided to restart it on PPP model now.

It was also decided that private players would be given charge to develop road-side amenities on highways and other frequently-traveled roads. The guidelines for developing these facilities would be given by the state government in the expression of interest.
