Chopped off heads of two young girls were found in a trolley bag in Kamiyapur village under Manpur police station area in Sitapur district on Thursday.

Additional SP (South area), Subhash Gangwar said the bag was placed in a cement pipe laid to carry water of a nullah across the small connecting road to Kamiyapur village, about 70 metres off the Sitapur-Biswan Road.

The SP said the heads, which were wrapped in a polythene, were not disfigured and could be identified. “We have no information of any missing girls in this area. There was nothing else in the bags which could help us in identifying them,” he said.

Manpur station officer Ahteram Hussain Zaidi said the decapitated heads of the two women, aged between 20 years to 25 years, appeared to have been cut off not more than 24 hours ago. Prima facie, he said, it appeared the bag was brought at the spot from somewhere else and then dumped. It was first noticed by a group of children who were grazing their cattle there, who informed the village pradhan, and subsequently the police were informed.
