Struggling to find clues in the murder case of 20-year-old Gauri Srivastava, the police on Saturday declared a reward of Rs 50,000 for information about the youth who was caught on a CCTV camera picking up the girl from Charbagh the day she went missing.

On February 1, Gauri — a resident of Aminabad and a first-year BA-LLB student at Ambedkar Law College — was seen leaving with a youth on the motorcycle. The next day, Gauri’s dismembered body was found at the PGI area. The body, chopped into four parts, was found at different places.

The best possible photograph of the youth extracted from the CCTV footage shows him riding a motorcycle and wearing a dark-colour blazer. “For now, that photograph is all we have. But we hope to get more information about him. We are trying our level best to solve the case,” said Lucknow SSP Yashasvi Yadav.
