First phase of polls shifted to last phase on March 3

The election for 60 Assembly constituencies which was earlier slated for February 4,will now be held on March 3 due to the uncertainty of the date of Muslim festival Barawafat,which may fall on February 4.

The election for 60 Assembly constituencies which was earlier slated for February 4,will now be held on March 3 due to the uncertainty of the date of Muslim festival Barawafat,which may fall on February 4.

The counting of votes for all the five poll-bound states — Manipur,Uttarakhand,Goa,Punjab and Uttar Pradesh — will be done on March 6 instead earlier schedule of March 4.

According to the revised schedule of the Election Commission of India,the notification for the poll to be held on March 3,will be issued on February 6.

The last date for making nominations is February 13 while the scrutiny of nominations will take place on February 14. The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is February 16. The whole election process will get completed on March 9.

Now the first phase of poll will start on February 8 for which notification will be made on Thursday.
