Nearly a month after Deputy SP Ziaul Haque was killed in Balipur village of Kunda in Pratapgarh district, his widow Parveen Azad visited the slain officer government quarter in Kunda on Sunday to collect his belongings.

Azad reached Kunda along with the team of policemen deployed for her security. She stayed at the house where Haque used to reside for over three hours before leaving for Lucknow in the afternoon.

Haque, who was posted as Circle Officer of Kunda, was killed in Balipur village on March 2 after he reached there on coming to know about the murder of village pradhan Nanhey Yadav. Nanhey’s brother Suresh was also found murdered around the same time. The triple murder is now being investigated by the CBI after the state government made the recommendation as demanded by Azad who has named local MLA and former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya for the murder of her husband.

CBI officials who are camping in Kunda to probe the case also reached Haque’s house. The CBI officials reportedly interacted with Azad for some time. Azad told mediapersons that every person guilty of committing a crime must get punished. “So far,I am satisfied(with the probe),but if there are delays and deviations then I will not sit quiet,” she said.

Azad said the CBI officials had come just to meet her. She recently joined as Officer on Special Duty(OSD) in UP Police,a job provided by the state government.

Meanwhile, she has written a letter to the DGP office, requesting for study leave to complete her Bachelor of Dental Surgery and internship. Azad is a final year student of BDS at Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences in Lucknow.

She said that she did not specify the time period in the application because the date for final examination has not been declared.
