Doctor booked for facilitating illegal stay of two Uzbek women, performing plastic surgery without formalities

An FIR has been lodged against Dr Vivek Gupta and Thrijin Raj alias Arun Rana at the Sushant Golf City police station. The case has been filed under section 318 (4) (cheating) of the BNS. Police also invoked the Foreigners Act against accused, said a police officer.

When contacted, Sushant Golf City Station House Officer Upendra Singh said that no arrests have been made in the case so far.

According to police, they received a tip-off from the FRRO, Lucknow, on Friday, stating that foreign nationals were staying illegally in a flat without informing the FRRO, local police, or administrative authorities.

A police team raided the flat and found two foreign women living there. The women identified themselves as Holida and Nilofar and claimed that their passport and visa documents were lost after they arrived in India.

Police have not ruled out the possibility of the foreign nationals being involved in illegal or suspicious activities.

When asked to provide a copy of the lost documents, the women claimed they had informed their associate, Lola Kayumova, to file a complaint but had no knowledge of whether she actually did so. They further alleged that Lola, who has been living in India for some time, had facilitated their and others’ arrival in the country.

They also stated that it was through Lola that they were introduced to Dr. Vivek Gupta, who runs hospitals at two locations and had performed plastic surgery-related procedures on them. The women claimed Lola later introduced them to Arjun Rana, who lives in a separate rented accommodation.

They alleged that both Arjun Rana and Dr. Vivek Gupta were responsible for arranging their stay in Lucknow.
