Contractor ‘rescued’ from SP MLA flat

The police Friday rescued a contractor from the official residence of SP MLA from Kushinagar district Brahma Shanker Tripathi.

The police Friday rescued a contractor from the official residence of SP MLA from Kushinagar district Brahma Shanker Tripathi. The MLA’s associates had allegedly detained the contractor and were torturing him for dispute over money. Tripathi is the SP candidate from Kushinagar this time too.

Lucknow DIG D K Thakur said the MLA was not present at his residence when the incident took place. The complainant has not made any allegation against him either,Thakur added.

The DIG said Jeet Bahadur Singh,a resident of Faizabad,told the police that one Keshav Chaubey had called him around 10 am to the MLA’s residence. Singh reached there along with his friends,Mukesh Pandey and Om Prakash.

He alleged that Chaubey,and two other persons,assaulted him and asked him to pay Rs 2 lakh to one Amit Pandey or they will push him off the flat.

Chaubey,who lives in the flat,kept torturing him when Singh’s friends somehow called up the police for help.

The police rushed to the flat in the afternoon and rescued Singh and his friends.

The DIG said both Jeet Bahadur and Amit Pandey are contractors. Singh reportedly had to pay Rs 5 lakh to Pandey. He had given Rs 2.35 lakh and Pandey was now forcing him to pay the rest.

Body of missing 6-year-old found

The Lucknow police on Friday found the body of a six-year-old boy,who was missing since Thursday,in Thakurganj area. The boy,Shubham,was a kindergarten student of St. Joseph’s School in Thakurganj. The family found his body partly buried in the ground. Post mortem showed the child had been killed a day earlier.

Police said,the father of the deceased,Raja Ram Tiwari,who is a businessman,received a ransom call for Rs 3 lakh on Friday afternoon. A second call was received in the evening.

While the police was busy searching for the boy,they were informed that the body of a boy was lying in the bushes in Bai,in Thakurganj area. The police team rushed to the spot and sent the body for post mortem. There were no injury marks on the body and the boy was smothered to death,police said.

Circle Officer,Chowk,PR Srivastava said they suspect the boy had already been killed before the ransom call was made.

Shubham was kidnapped from outside his house in Balaganj area on Thursday evening. His family had filed a missing report at the Thakurganj police station.
