The CBI today interrogated two of the six youths — Ashutosh Shukla and Pankaj Mishra — arrested yesterday by the Gorakhpur police regarding their alleged role in the murders of CMOs Dr VK Arya and Dr BP Singh.

The CBI sources told The Sunday Express that they had been looking for Shukla and Mishra to verify the claims of the Lucknow police, which suspected them to have played a role in the CMO murder case. A team was sent to Gorakhpur to interrogate them and look into the police claim.

But,the sources said, the CBI will not seek remand of either of the two accused from the court. The Special Task Force (STF) and the Gorakhpur police have already questioned both of them yesterday. The CBI team will see if there was some important clue, which can help the investigation, the sources added.

Both the accused were later produced before the court in the afternoon. The court sent them in judicial custody.
