CM asks state MPs to urge Centre for development funds

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has written to the state’s MPs,seeking their cooperation to get maximum funds from the Centre for the state’s development.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has written to the state’s MPs,seeking their cooperation to get maximum funds from the Centre for the state’s development. In his letter,the CM has specifically mentioned the state’s requirement for infrastructure development.

According to a press release issued by the Information and Public Relations Department,Akhilesh Yadav has stated in his letter that Uttar Pradesh used to be a leading state in the country in view of its development in the past. However,the state now lags behind in the race for development.

He has attached a copy of the letter which he had recently written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,seeking assistance for the development of UP. He has informed the MPs that he had urged the Centre to provide adequate funds for various development projects,besides request for some policy decisions.

In his letter to the PM,Akhilesh had given priority to departments like Agriculture,Power,Infrastructure Development,Social Welfare,Rural Development and Tourism. He reminded the MPs that they have a great role in the development of the state and they could help the state by prompting the Centre to take decisions on the matters he has highlighted in his letter to the PM.
