The CBI is looking for a note which former Deputy CMO Dr YS Sachan, who died in Lucknow jail under suspicious circumstances on June 22 last year,is believed to have written in his legal defence.

It is different from the so-called suicide note purportedly written by Dr Sachan,a photocopy of which is available with the CBI. The CBI has gathered that Dr Sachan’s wife met him in jail on June 20 and he told her that he had been made a scapegoat in the case of murder of CMOs V K Arya and B K Singh. He asked her to hire a leading criminal lawyer for his defence. Later,he wrote a detailed note on the two murders in a diary which he wanted to hand over to the lawyer, the CBI has learnt. However, the note went missing after his death.
