BSP other side of BJP coin, says Amar Singh

Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh on Sunday alleged that every vote given to the Bahujan Samaj Party will help strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party because there is an understanding between them.

Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh on Sunday alleged that every vote given to the Bahujan Samaj Party will help strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party because there is an understanding between them.

“If LK Advani becomes the prime minister,Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati will be made the deputy prime minister,” he said.

“BSP BJP ka doosra pehlu hai (BSP is the other face of the BJP),” he said. “Earlier too,Mayawati has formed government thrice in the state in alliance with the BJP. She tied rakhi to BJP candidate Lalji Tandon and campaigned for Narendra Modi in Gujarat,” said Singh, addressing party workers at a Holi Milan in Lucknow.

Mayawati can never achieve the dream of becoming a prime minister because she treats politics as business,he said. “Her support to the Third Front is an attempt towards achieving her dream. Like her, members of the Third Front such as Chandra Babu Naidu,J Jayalalitha,Naveen Patnaik were all associated with the BJP at some time or the other.”

Regarding the Samajwadi Party’s relations with the Congress,he said there is no difference between them.

“Hamara aur Congress ka vichaaron ka taalmel hai, seeton ka nahi (We have a mutual understanding with the Congress Party even though we do not agree on the issue of seat sharing),” said Singh.

Regarding the issue of Kalyan Singh joining the party,he defended it,saying it will help them fight communal forces.

Sanjay Dutt, who was present on the occasion, referred to party workers and supporters as his ‘Circuits’,a popular character in his Munnabhai films, who will help him defeat the ruling BSP. Reacting to Lalji Tandon calling him an outsider,he said,“How can I be an outsider? I am an Indian and have a right to be in every part of the country.”
