A day after BSP leader Intezar Ahmed Abidi alias Bobby was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a government employee in the city on March 2,the police admitted him to Balrampur hospital after he complained of chest pain.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kashi Nath later visited the hospital and sent Bobby to judicial custody for 14 days.
Sub-inspector Pankaj Kumar Singh,who is investigating officer of the case,said that before taking Bobby to the court in the morning,the police took him for a check up at Balrampur Hospital where he complained of chest pain. The doctors admitted him to the hospital.
After Bobby was admitted,the police informed the court and produced his medical reports,said Pankaj Singh. “Bobby is suffering for unstable angina,” said Dr Shobha Nath,Director of Balrampur Hospital.
After the BSP leader was arrested near his residence on Saturday evening,locals gheraoed the Wazirganj police station and raised anti-police slogans. They also burnt effigies of the district police chief and other officers. Following protests,Bobby was shifted to the Cantt police station late in the night.
MLA held for misbehaving with IAS officer
Kanpur: A Samajwadi Party MLA and his associate were arrested today for allegedly misbehaving with a woman IAS officer of the state power department here,police said.
MLA Irfan Solanki and his associates went to the office of Kanpur Electricity Supply Company MD,Ritu Maheshwari,with some complaints on June 15. When the security guards did not allow them inside,they barged into Maheshwaris cabin and allegedly misbehaved with her. District Magistrate Hari Om intervened and the matter was put to rest following an apology from the MLA.
However,two days later,a complaint was lodged against Solanki and his supporters by executive engineer Ashok Kumar Singh. This (complaint) is the result of political hatred. When a compromise was achieved that day,what was the need of a police complaint two days later? Solanki said yesterday.
