Anshul,Sunil shine in UP (East) team victory

All-round efforts by Anshul Kapoor and impressive batting by Sunil Upadhyay helped UP team in registering an eight wicket victory against MTNL Mumbai in their quarter-final match of the 10th All India BSNL Cricket Tournament-2011,in Lucknow.

All-round efforts by Anshul Kapoor (59 not out; 3 for 27) and impressive batting by Sunil Upadhyay (64 not out) helped UP (East) team in registering an eight wicket victory against MTNL Mumbai in their quarter-final match of the 10th All India BSNL Cricket Tournament-2011,in Lucknow. The tournament is being organised by BSNL UP (East) Telecom Circle,Lucknow.

In another quarter-final match of the tournament,NTR Delhi beat Punjab by 142 runs. NTR Delhi batsmen,NS Negi (73 not out) and Joginder Singh (64) batted impressively. Nitin Agarwal (3 for 5),Mohit Vishnoi (3 for 7) and Rohit Mehra (2 for 15) bowled with good vision for the team to pave the way for the comprehensive win.

Brief Scores:- (3rd quarter-final):- NTR Delhi: 189 for three in 30 overs ( NS Negi 73 not out,Joginder Singh 64,Rajendra Kumar (retd. hurt) 18,Varun Kumar 14; Mohan Singh 2 for 33,Chiranjeev 1 for 28); Punjab: 47 all out in 24.4 overs ( Satpal 13,Sudesh Kumar 10; Nitin Agarwal 3 for 5,Mohit Vishnoi 3 for 7,Rohit Mehra 2 for 15); (4th Quarter-final):- MTNL Mumbai: 140 for nine in 30 overs ( NH Saraf 40,Santosh Bhatkar 36,Madan Gadgil 24,Dilip Ghadi 12; Virendra Bharti 3 for 24,Anshul Kapoor 3 for 27,Suresh Dubey 1 for 14,Rajeev Chandel 1 for 24); UP (East): 144 for two in 27 overs ( Sunil Upadhyay 64 not out,Anshul Kapoor 59 not out; Amit Singh 2 for 23). Wednesday’s Fixtures: 1st Semi-final: NTR Delhi vs Madhya Pradesh (at LDA Stadium); 2nd Semi-final: UP East vs Orissa (at Chowk Stadium).
