According to the police, they received information on Saturday that a girl’s body was found hanging in her house. Upon reaching the spot, they learnt that the girl’s elder sister had been kidnapped by the accused. The two girls were alone in the house at the time of the purported incident.

During the preliminary inquiry, the police learnt that the missing girl was in a relationship with the youth from another community. It was also found that she eloped with the youth in January and had also taken along her younger sister.

Both girls returned with the boy three days later, leading to a heated argument between the two families, it is learnt. The matter was settled after a village meeting involving members of both communities was held.
