4 MBBS interns killed in car crash on Delhi-Lucknow highway

All four were the only sons in their families. Four MBBS interns returning to their university campus after a party were killed late Wednesday night after their Swift Dzire crashed into a parked truck on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The accident took place around 10.30 pm near Atrasi village, about 7 km from Shri Venkateshwara University in Gajraula, where the four were interning after completing their MBBS in the 2020 batch.
The mattress-loaded DCM (truck) was stationed on the service road when the car rammed into it from behind. “The collision was so severe that the front portion of the car was embedded in the DCM. With great difficulty, the car was pulled apart using a tractor, and then cut open to retrieve the bodies,” said police.
