The Lucknow police Wednesday arrested three persons for allegedly kidnapping a four-year-old and dumping his body in Gomti river. Police said Shivam was kidnapped from his house in Thakurganj area November 24.
Police said they engaged divers to trace the body.
Station Officer (SO),Thakurganj police station,Shashi Kant Yadav confirmed the arrest of Santosh,who runs a shop of repairing electrical goods,his nephew Sonu and latter’s friend Ajay.
Police said Santosh knew victim’s father Manoj Gupta,as his shop was located close to their house in Thakurganj.
Santosh told the police that he along with Sonu and Ajay kidnapped Shivam,who was playing outside his house,with an intention to harass Gupta and demand a few thousand rupees,Yadav said. he accused,however,strangled Shivam after he identified Santosh,and threw his body in the river in the night,he added. ens
