Police on Saturday arrested two criminals who were part of a gang that allegedly killed an undertrial and injured a lawyer in Hapur district court premises on Tuesday afternoon.
Police arrested Krishna Dhobi,a resident of Dadri area of Noida,and Ranveer Gujjar,a resident of Chandinagar area of Baghpat from near Delhi road on Saturday when they were coming to Hapur from Noida.
Hapur Station House Officer (SHO) Rajendra Singh said Dhobi and Gujjar,who are members of Naresh Bhati gang,were part of a team of one dozen criminals who had murdered historysheeter Ashok Pehalvan on Tuesday. He said Pehalvan belonged to rival Sunder Bhati gang and had killed a relative of one of the members in Naresh Bhati gang. He said Amit,whose nephew Nandu had been murdered last year,had planned to kill Pehalvan with the help of his fellow gang members.
The SHO said while four members of the gang were seen firing at Pehalvan,Dhobi and Gujjar had stood outside court building to support the shooters if they needed help.
