A minor girl was rescued from Bihar and three persons linked to a trafficking ring were arrested, the West Bengal Police said on Monday. Authorities confirmed that the trafficking network has been “dismantled.”

The gang, allegedly led by Nandkishore Kumar, employed a “sophisticated modus operandi,” building relationships with young girls on social media before luring them into dangerous situations. Police said that the victims were subsequently “abducted and trafficked to various locations.”

The investigation began after the girl’s disappearance on July 13, leading authorities to Motihari district in Bihar. The rescued minor’s testimony revealed the involvement of two accomplices, Rahul, also known as Mijanur Mondal, and Sriram Roy, who were arrested on October 25.

The following day, police apprehended Nandkishore Kumar, described as the alleged mastermind behind the operation. This arrest marks a “significant breakthrough” in the case, particularly due to Kumar’s connections to Champaran district in Bihar.

Mizanur and Sriram are believed to have crucial roles as agents within the trafficking network, with police suspecting the involvement of additional accomplices. Investigations are ongoing.
