Two persons were shot dead and another seriously injured after the occupant of a disputed property opened fire on other claimants here,barely a few yards from the city police commissioner’s official residence.
According to reports,Mamata Agarwal,who runs a Montessori school at the disputed site,and her security guards fired at a group of people who entered the compound early on Monday morning.
The group reportedly comprised 21 people,including security guards,bouncers,a lawyer and a photographer.
Soon after they entered the site,Agarwal and one of her associates reportedly opened fire,killing two persons and seriously injuring another one,police said. The injured is reported to be critical. The victims have been identified as Piklu Acharya,26,and Prasenjit De,28.
The police have seized the two guns,which Agarwal claimed were licensed.
