TMC govt has failed on all fronts: BJP

The BJP Sunday claimed that the TMC government had disappointed the people in West Bengal.

The BJP Sunday claimed that the TMC government had disappointed the people in West Bengal who had voted for a change and said the reign of terror continued in the state just like it was during the earlier Left regime.

“No attempts have been made for large scale employment generation. The MSMEs too have not been developed to generate employment. New schools and colleges have not been opened,” said Meenakshi Lekhi,BJP’s national spokesperson.

She said the youth were not given their due and people are migrating from the state due to lack of opportunities. She also pointed out the fruitlessness in the state’s schemes such as doling out cash to clubs and paying to family members of those who died after consuming illegal country liquor. “While it is understandable that the government has paid to families of hooch victims, why the clubs were being paid is still a question. Again, the illegal production and distribution of liquor should not have been there in the first place,” she said.

Lekhi said that the maternal maternity rate was the worst in Bengal and cited the lack of availability of drinking water as the chief reason. She said that state lacked in health, education and providing employment.

Asked about a possible alliance between the BJP and the TMC in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections she said,“Nothing has been worked out at present.”

To a query on the resignation of Karuna Shukla, niece of Atal Behari Vajpayee from the BJP,she said,“Yeh toh chalta hi rehta hai (This keeps happening in politics).”

Patna blasts: Complete intelligence failure of IB,CID<\b>

BJP Sunday slammed former ally JD(U),saying it had no moral right to govern Bihar as it could not ensure proper security for Narendra Modi given the serial blasts near his ‘Hunkar rally’ at Patna. It also blamed the intelligence bureau and the CID in Bihar for ‘complete intelligence failure’. “The person who was to address the rally is in the Z-plus security cover category and despite that there was no proper security arrangement,” BJP national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said, adding President Pranab Mukherjee was to be in Patna but cancelled his visit “owing to the rally”.

“Had he come and such blasts occurred, what would have happened? Given the situation,JD(U) has no moral right to govern the state,” she said.Asked if she thought it was a conspiracy by the state government, she said,“I would not make such irresponsible comment. It would be too premature, but all aspects should be looked into.”
