An FIR was filed after Dona Ganguly, wife of former cricketer Sourav Ganguly, lodged a complaint with Kolkata Police, alleging that she has been subjected to “obscene comments and body-shaming” on social media, police said on Friday, adding a probe has been launched into the matter.
The Odissi dancer approached the Thakurpukur police station to file the complaint.

The FIR was registered against unidentified persons for repeatedly “posting objectionable comments targeting her on Facebook”.
According to the complaint, a Facebook page has reportedly “been uploading obscene remarks targeting her following her recent performance at the Kolkata International Film Festival”. Dona and her troupe had performed at the KIFF inauguration event. The Cyber Cell is probing the case.
Kolkata Police said they have received the complaint and that the Cyber Cell is investigating the matter.
