The Special Investigation Team Saturday started the process of handing over all documents and case diaries related to the Saradha scam to the CBI.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had Friday informed the Assembly that she had written a letter to police directorate asking them to transfer case diaries and all related documents to the SIT.  “The process has started and a few case diaries have been handed over to us,” said CBI CIO Kanchan Prasad.

Meanwhile, MP Kunal Ghosh who is in jail in connection with the scam said he wants to be interrogated by the CBI. “I can give some important leads to the CBI that will help in the investigation,” Ghosh said when he was produced at a local court Saturday.

Alleging harassment by the police, Ghosh claimed he was being framed in various “new and false” cases. “Everyday, police frame me in some new and false cases. Every alternative day, I am being produced before several district courts,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate investigating into the money trail of Saradha Group, sent summons to Trinamool MP and actor Mithun Chakraborty Wednesday.  While the actor has been asked to appear before the investigators in the coming week, Chakraborty denied receiving any summons.
