kolkata: As the state government has compiled the list of absentee employees during the strike on February 28,chief secretary Samar Ghosh on Friday made it clear that show-cause notices will be sent to all employees who did not turn up for duty. The decision has already been taken that no leave will be granted on that day. That was clear in my circular. Now we are compiling the list of all those absentee employees and after it is completed we will see what we can do, Ghosh said.
According to sources,the government will have to take action against absenteed in order to appease those who made the extra effort to be present on the day of the strike.
Revolver of MLAs bodyguard found
Kolkata: Police on Friday found the service revolver of MLA Sabyasachi Duttas security officer,which went missing during a CPM-TMC clash on February 28. The revolver,wrapped in plastic packet,was found in a drain in Baglatala. It is the revolver that was lost. We identified it by its number, said D P Pan,OC,Airport police station. The Opposition said it was planted by Trinamool. They (Trinamool) claimed it was lost and then left it in the drain themselves, said CPM leader Gautam Deb. On February 28,the day of the industrial strike called by Left trade unions,TMC and CPM cadres fought over whether a school in the locality would be open. MLA Dutta arrived at the scene and in the ensuing scuffle,his bodyguard lost his revolver.
