A sub-inspector with the Kolkata Police,Nur Ali,who was arrested late on Friday for his alleged involvement in the Short Street firing case and the related land deal,has been remanded in police custody till December 19. Ali was produced at the Chief Metropolitan Court at Bankshall court this morning.
The Kolkata Police brought the allegation that Ali took bribe for the land deal when he was posted at the Shakespere Sarani police station. Ali was investigating the firing that took place on Short Street on November 11 in connection with a land deal. The Detective Department at Lalbazar summoned Ali for interrogation on Friday.
Today,public prosecutor Krishna Kumar Das pleaded that Ali has confessed to his involvement with the land deal and the November 11 incident.
