Sen probe panel gets 35,000 complaints and counting

SINCE its inception on April 26,the Justice Shyamal Sen Commission,formed to probe the chit fund scam of Saradha Group,has received 35,000 complaints with more depositors and agents of the firm queuing up at the panel’s Council House Street office in central Kolkata to submit their applications.

SINCE its inception on April 26,the Justice Shyamal Sen Commission,formed to probe the chit fund scam of Saradha Group,has received 35,000 complaints with more depositors and agents of the firm queuing up at the panel’s Council House Street office in central Kolkata to submit their applications.

On Friday,the commission will open its Siliguri centre for receiving complaints from people in north Bengal,said an official of the commission official.

“Even though today was a holiday on account of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary,we came to office. Today we received the maximum number of complaints in a day so far — about 9,000,” said an official.

The commission has also set up another centre at Rajarhat in the outskirts of Kolkata.
