The State Election Commission on Wednesday said it was trying to work on the technicality that debars deployment of Central forces at single booths.
The present rule states that not less than half section of armed forces, which is four in number, can be deployed at polling booths.
We are trying to bring it down to one-fourth section so that even single booths can get Central armed forces, said a senior SEC official and added that efforts were afoot to initiate a talk with the Union Home Secretary regarding it.
During the first two phases,Central forces could not be deployed at single booths and most of them were used for area domination.
