Private varsity bill to be passed soon: Mamata

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said that the state government will pass the Private University Bill 2012 in the Assembly in two to three days.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said that the state government will pass the Private University Bill 2012 in the Assembly in two to three days. The bill will enable private parties to set up universities and other higher educational institutions in Bengal.

Speaking at an award ceremony of South Point School at Netaji Indoor stadium,Mamata announced that she has earmarked a plot behind Ruby General Hospital for a second campus of the school.

“The land is free from encroachment but is now under litigation. The government will look after the litigation,” Mamata said.
