MBA programmes: IIMC 19th in world

The premier B-School had participated in the FT Global Rankings survey for the first time this year.

The Indian Institute of Management,Calcutta (IIMC) has been ranked 19th in the Financial Times Global Rankings,above the London School of Economics and Manchester Business School for its management programmes. The premier B-School had participated in the FT Global Rankings survey for the first time this year. “It was even more heartening that IIMC was ranked higher than world-renowned institutions such the London School of Economics,Aalto University,Manchester Business School and quite a few others,” a statement issued by the institute reads. IIMC and IIM Ahmedabad were the only two institutions from India to feature in the rankings.

Minor girl raped,condition serious

A six-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in Topsia here following which she was admitted to a hospital in a serious condition. Mohammed Imtiaz (22) allegedly lured the girl to his residence and raped her last night,police said. When the victim’s family came to know about the incident,they admitted her to a government hospital. Angry over the incident,locals caught Imtiaz and handed him over to the police,who arrested him. Residents of Topsia today took out a rally to Alipore Court,in protest against the rising incidents of rape and molestation in the area.
