The Calcutta High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the anticipatory bail petition of Preeti Surekha, one of the directors of AMRI hospital who was absconding in the fire incident which took place on December 9,2011. Public prosecutor Debasish Roy apprised the Division Bench, headed by Justice Ashim Kumar Roy that the state government had filed a Special Leave Petition for cancellation of bail of R S Goenka,a director of AMRI hospital. The Supreme Court issued notice to Goenka. Roy argued that the High Court should not grant the anticipatory bail plea to Preeti Surekha at this stage. R S Goenka,a director of the AMRI hospital, was arrested by the Kolkata Police after the fire incident and was released on bail on March 28 by an order passed by the Calcutta High Court.
