The state government on Friday sent four names to the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) for selecting one as its secretary, even as the Calcutta High Court adjourned the hearing after the submission of the Advocate General.

Home Secretary recommended the names of R D Meena,Saidul Islam,Kalipada Das and Sukumar Janai.

Justice Dipankar Dutta on Friday heard the petition filed by the GTA,which challenged the appointment of District Magistrate of Darjeeling as the secretary of the GTA.

Last week, the state government had assured the high court that it would recommend three names of the rank of principal secretary to the GTA within a week for the post of secretary.

On Friday,Advocate General Bimal Chatterjee informed that the chief minister was not well, therefore she could not sign the file regarding the issue. Following this,Justice Dipankar Dutta adjourned the case till Wednesday. Afterwards,Binay Tamang, one of the executive members of the GTA came out from the court room and received a phone call from Darjeeling informing him that the state home secretary had sent four names by fax in the noon for selecting one as the secretary of the GTA.

Tamang said they would discuss on the four names and if no body was selected as secretary of the GTA,it would further request the state to recommend more names.
