Customs department Saturday seized a consignment of gold biscuits weighing 3 kg from the NSCBI airport. This comes barely a week after customs officials of airport intelligence unit had recovered 24 kg gold worth Rs 7.6 crore from the toilet of an aircraft stranded in Kolkata international airport. The biscuits were recovered from a courier in a Kolkata -Bangalore flight,a senior official of the customs department said. In a separate case,customs department Saturday apprehended a person who came from Myanmar. Customs officials recovered gold biscuits weighing 300 grams from his possession,officials added.
