A fire broke out at an under-construction skyscraper in Kolkata on Saturday. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. However, no casualties or loss of properties were reported.

The 62-floor residential skyscraper ‘The 42’ is located on Chowringhee Road in Park Street area of Kolkata. The fire broke out on its eighth and ninth floor around 4.55pm, a senior officer of the Kolkata Police told reporters. Three fire tenders brought the fire under control. Read in Bangla.

Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee visited the site. “The fire seems to have spread through the nylon nets used to guard the air-conditioning machines. Our officials have responded quickly and the fire is under control now,” Chatterjee told PTI.
