As Durga Puja festivities kick off in West Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting intermittent light rain. While there is a possibility of scattered showers in some districts, the overall weather is expected to be conducive for pandal hopping and celebrations.

The highest chances of rain are anticipated in the districts of North and South 24 Parganas and East and West Midnapur. Other areas may experience scattered light showers.

The IMD has ruled out the possibility of heavy rainfall during the Puja days. The cyclone over the northern part of Gangetic West Bengal is gradually moving away, reducing the chances of significant rainfall in southern West Bengal.
