College girl commits suicide,3 TMCP leaders booked
KOLKATA: An 18-year-old girl committed suicide on Thursday allegedly because she couldnt get admission in the honours course at her favourite college,the police said. Monideepa Sen,a Beleghata resident,secured 78 per cent in Higher Secondary examination and wanted to pursue Geography (Honours) at Vidyasagar College but couldnt get through. It has been alleged that three senior students at Vidyasagar College Abhishek Mishra,Kaushik Mukherjee and Manas all members of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (student wing of TMC),had assured her of admission. All three have been booked.
Ghosh summoned for seventh time,grilled for four hours
KOLKATA: suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh was Thursday questioned for nearly four hours after he was summoned by the Bidhanagar Police for the seventh time in a month in the Saradha chitfund scam case.The investigators have found some new evidence. I dont think it would be right to disclose what I told the investigators, Ghosh said when asked whether he had revealed the names of bigwigs to the police,as he had threatened to.
Deputy Commissioner,Detective Department Arnab Ghosh said,We checked and verified various inputs and leads that we have received during the investigation of the case. We may call him again as per the requirement of the investigation, the DC said.
Ghosh,who was CEO of the Saradha Media Group,had earlier threatened to disclose names if he was arrested in the chitfund case and demanded an inquiry by his party saying he had much to tell the leadership. Ghosh was suspended from the party on September 28 for anti-party
