A CBI team Monday questioned West Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee in connection with an ongoing probe into the I-Core ‘Ponzi scam’. A three-member CBI team reached Chatterjee’s office at Camac Street and questioned him for nearly two hours.

Earlier too, the agency had summoned him and Chatterjee claimed that he was “busy with pre-poll [Assembly bypoll] meetings”. He requested the CBI to question him at his office, pointing out that he is a senior citizen and citing the pandemic. The economic offences wing of the CBI had written to Chatterjee on September 6.

“They wanted to clarify a few things. I am ready to cooperate with them,” the minister said.
