Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife, Sudesh Dhankhar, visited Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Kalighat residence in Kolkata on Sunday evening to attend Kali Puja on the latter’s invitation.
The meeting comes in the wake of a war of words between the Trinamool Congress government and Raj Bhavan.
After spending over two hours at the CM’s residence, Dhankhar said that he was “blessed to attend the puja” at the CM’s house. “Anyone who comes to a puja comes with a pure heart and leaves with a purer heart,” the Governor said. “We had a good meeting. We also spend some time with her (CM)… We felt very blessed that we could see a puja that is operational since 1978,” Dhankhar said.
State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and Assembly speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay were also present.
