Bengal weather: Kalaikunda shivers at 13.5 degree Celsius, dry weather to prevail across state for next few days
The forecast for Kolkata and its neighbourhood suggests mainly clear sky, with maximum and minimum temperatures remaining steady, hovering around 25 degree Celsius and 15 degree Celsius, respectively, over the next 5 days.

West Bengal is set for a week of stable, dry, and cool winter weather with clear skies generally prevailing. According to weather experts at the Alipore Meteorological Office, there will be no significant change in the temperature over the next seven days.
On Sunday, Kalaikunda in West Midnapur district recorded a minimum temperature of 13.5 degree Celsius, which is 4 degree Celsius below normal.
South Bengal is enjoying a solid winter weekend. On Sunday, the minimum temperature in Kolkata and its surrounding districts was 15 degree Celsius. Experts said the mercury may come down further to 14 degree Celsius on Monday.
Minimum temperatures in the western districts have plunged further, settling around 10 degree Celsius. The region is experiencing a free flow of cold, westerly winds, leading to widespread winter conditions. The temperature across South Bengal is generally up to 4 degree Celsius below the normal mark. Dry weather is predicted for the next seven days, with no chance of rain. The temperature is likely to drop slightly on Monday.
North Bengal is expected to experience dew and fog in the mornings, but the sky will clear up later in the day. Light to moderate fog in the morning may reduce visibility to as low as 200 metres in a few places.
The weather in North Bengal will also be predominantly dry with no rain forecast. The minimum temperature is forecast to drop by another 2 degree Celsius over the next two days.
“West Bengal is currently experiencing dry weather conditions with no significant synoptic situation prevailing over the region,” said an official at the weather office.

“Rainfall was nil for both North and South Bengal. The forecast for the next seven days, up to December 13, 2025, predicts dry weather is most likely to prevail over all the districts of both North and South Bengal, with only a chance of shallow to moderate fog/haze in the morning hours over the plains of North Bengal,” he added.
