Former Chief Justice Altamas Kabir Saturday expressed shock at the sexual harassment charges filed by a law intern against former SC judge Asok Kumar Ganguly, saying he will adopt a wait and watch approach on the issue.
I have known Asok for a long time. He has been a member of the judiciary here… we have practised together. The allegations which have been made,I never ever would believe this is possible, Kabir told reporters.
Justice Ganguly, who is scheduled to fly to Delhi Saturday morning,is the chairman of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission. Despite several attempts,Ganguly could not be reached.
When asked whether Ganguly should step down from the post of chairman of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission,Kabir said,One automatically does not resign on the basis of allegations. They have to be substantiated.
