The CBI has framed charges against 23 accused persons in the 2022 Bogtui killings case in a Rampurhat court. According to sources, the 23 persons were produced in the court to frame charges. During the hearing, six persons appealed for bail, which was rejected.

The court has fixed August 12 and 13 as the days for taking testimony and presenting evidence in the case.

On the night of March 21, 2022, TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh was killed near his residence on March 21 and in retaliation, his supporters, including his younger brother, allegedly killed 10 people in Birbhum. The HC directed the CBI to investigate the murder.
